SMOKING AND LUNG CANCER

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer related death in the world . Smoking is the main contributor to lung cancer . Cigarette smoke contains more than 40 poisonous chemicals . And the risk of developing lung cancer is directly related to the number of cigarettes smoked . King filter cigarette is the most dangerous as it has a high tar content . There are many other cancers besides lung which result from cigarette smoking , which include  an increase incidence of oral , pharyngeal and esophageal cancer .

 CAUSES
Cigarette smoking
Passive smoking means inhalation of the smoke by some body who is not smoking himself
Asbestos may also cause lung cancer
Radon gas may also cause cancer


SIGNS
Difficulty in breathing
Blood in sputum
Prolong cough
Chest pain
Weight loss
Anorexia
Fatigue
Change in voice
Difficulty in swallowing

PREVENTION
Quit smoking
Avoid cigarette smoke by staying away from smokers
Inform other people about it’s risks through media and mass campaigns
